Cinnamon is an evergreen tree native to Ceylon and grown throughout tropical Asia, which supplies the well-known and popular spice.

The bark of the stem and branches deprived of the outermost parts, once freed from the cork and most of the primary bark, is dried and used for the extraction of essential oil.

The cinnamon present in this supplement (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) is also known as "true cinnamon", and is the most valuable species.

In particular, a beneficial action on blood sugar is attributed to this spice.
