Turmeric is a perennial plant of the Zingiberaceae family (the same to which Ginger belongs). When extracted, the root is cylindrical and orange in color, and the resulting powder is yellow-ochre.
HAIR: Turmeric contains curcumin, potassium, vitamin C and flavonoids: this composition gives it antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunostimulant properties. Furthermore, Turmeric is considered a sebum regulator and anti-dandruff, the mechanism of action seems to be an acceleration of blood circulation with increased nourishment to the hair follicles.
DYEING NOTES: Suitable for obtaining Blonde and warm tones on light hair. Mix with Henna or other dyeing herbs. Recommended for blonde and very light brown hair to obtain blonde, golden or warm tones. Use in combination with henna to obtain very warm copper tones or with cassia to revive blonde tones.
Please note: Do not use on bleached hair, with highlights or highlights. Do not apply with Indigo or Katam or on hair that still has residues of these two Herbs: in all these cases there is a risk of unpleasant green chromatisms.
SKIN: It has healing properties and can therefore be used on wounds, burns and insect bites. It can be used to inhibit the growth of unwanted hair and as a protective and nourishing treatment for the skin. Useful for the treatment of eczema, psoriasis and acne and is a powerful anti-wrinkle due to its strong antioxidant action.
HISTORY and CURIOSITIES: Despite its "nickname" of Indian Saffron, the origins of Turmeric are probably attributable to China. In India, however, it has been known and used for at least 5,000 years, as a medicine, spice and dye, but it is also considered a powerful lucky charm, so much so that Indian brides use to dye their hair with Turmeric powder and wear a small piece around their neck on their wedding day.
HOW TO USE: Mix with boiling water and any other herbs until it reaches the consistency of yogurt. Cover the container and let it rest for 15 minutes. Apply the paste to dry hair. Massage with light circular movements. Apply what remains to the lengths. Leave on for 20-50 minutes, 1-3 hours as a dye pack. Rinse thoroughly and make a light and diluted shampoo, such as our wild Helichrysum shampoo from Sardinia. As a face mask, we recommend mixing it with clays and other herbs to avoid unpleasant chromatisms. The application time is 10/15 minutes.
On the face skin use carefully and in very small quantities to avoid unsightly yellow tones in the complexion. If used for body washing, there are no problems as the duration of the application is shorter than a face mask.
100g pack.
